I've been tagged!: six weird things about me

Roberta of RobKnits tagged me a few weeks ago. Thanks so much, Roberta, for including me in this fun. Since getting tagged, I've been thinking long and hard about what might be the six weirdest things about me. I've been spending way too much time thinking, and I thought I better post this meme before it falls off the earth. (It's almost everywhere!)

Here are the rules:

"Each player of this game starts with the ‘6 weird things about you.’ People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave a comment that says ‘you are tagged’ in their comments and tell them to read your blog.”

Here goes:

1. For a long time, I thought Mr. Slim Goodbody was god. In my child mind, I thought because I could see his insides, that he must be god. In Sunday School, when our teachers said that we couldn't see god, I protested. He's on my tv, I said.

2. I had a serious, serious crush on the Fonz when I was four. I mean, it was really love. In one episode, Fonzie fell off his motorcycle. Fonzie might be dead. The show was to be continued. I cried. My mother didn't know what to do.

3. I can't go to sleep without socks on. Said socks may come off at some point during the night, but I can't sleep unless I have socks on.

4. I can't think unless my hair is up. Being a writer and a Ph.D. student means that my hair is almost always in a barrette.

5. I keep Chapstick and lip balm companies in business. I even put lip balm on several times during the middle of the night.

6. I'm addicted to my electric toothbrush. I brush more than anyone I know--maybe about six times a day. I know, I know, it can't be good for me.

Not very exciting things. But, it's exciting to think about who I'm going to tag.

You're it:

Crafty Granny

Monica Knits...A LOT!!
a foggy place . . .
From Sheep to Shawls and Socks
Pixiefarts
Monkey Pants and Hippo Dignity

I thought I would take this opportunity to tag old friends, new friends, and knitters I have yet to meet. Have fun!

yours,
the lone knitter

I probably don't have to think to hard to come up with six weird things about me, do my children count??? That would make my quota!! Just kidding. Well, now I'm off to think, sorry socks is one of my things and so is lip balm, but I'll come up wth some others. Maybe I should just pass out index cards to my near and dear, they'd love it.

And I have yet to knit a sock ...
Hmmm ... six weird things about me....
Only six?!? This may take several drafts ...
Take care,
Genevieve

Slim Goodbody! He gave me the creeps as a little kid. I thought there was something vaguely wrong, but couldn't put my finger on it (I realize now that I must have been uncomfortable with the unitard).

Also, I'm with you on the hair. Mine can't be in my face. Even though I love the "wispy and scholarly" look, the first thing I do when I sit down to read or write isbobby pin back my bangs and wisps.

That is the prettiest colorways, what is it and by who?

Knitstress, thanks for the compliments on the yarn. It's actually yarn that I dyed with Kool-Aid a year ago. It's Knit Picks dye-your-own and four different Kool-Aid flavors--sour apple, blue raspberry, cherry, and lemonade.

That is awesome, I am going to have a dying day here when it gets warmer, right now it's 33 degrees just a wee bit too cold to dye. I will look it up

Funny, I just KNEW that was the yarn you dyed. You ARE weird. I knew there was a reason I liked you..... Thanks for compliments on my socks and quilt top. I just can't believe that quilt looks as good as it does.

My family helped me with my weird things, I don't think I am weird, apparently they do. I like to wear socks to bed too, and they usually come off some time in the night. Hope you don't mind that I just referred to the first one I did, I was afraid to think of what my family would come up with this time around.

Ack! I'm not so good with memes. I don't make any promises, but thanks for tagging me!

I'll have to confirm with my mother, but I have this odd recollection that I met Slim Goodbody when I was younger. I think it bothered me that I could see muscles on one side and veins and arteries on the other. And even at a young age, it seemed strange to me that his unitard's crotch left out some rather important anatomical details.

Oh my you ARE weird....(ha,ha). My younger brother was obsessed with Mr Slim Goodbody as a pre-teen, we still joke about it.
Sorry I haven't mailed in my squares yet, I promise a whole mess of them are coming soon along with a surprise treat for you and Mom J!
